How do you clean outside windows?

Window cleaning may seem like a pretty straightforward job which should be easy to do correctly, right? Well in actual fact, there is a lot skill and knowledge required to get the job done well, and there are equally plenty of ways that window cleaning may not be done well. So, how exactly do you clean outside windows effectively so that they are streak-free and more light can enter your property?

In terms of equipment to wipe down your windows with, we recommend getting hold of a squeegee; the ideal size is about a third the size of the window you want to clean. You can also use a microfibre cloth, which is effective as it will leave windows clear, shiny and streak-free. They are also very soft and will not damage your windows. It is best to avoid paper towels (as they will leave lint on the windows), and newspaper (the ink will likely run to leave stains).

Next, the cleaner. You may choose to use a store-bought cleaner, in which case we recommend one that is vinegar based because it will leave the glass streak-free. You should avoid one which is ammonia or alcohol-based because it is more likely to leave streaks. We would suggest that if you want to get the job done well, you get in touch with a professional such as here at Prudential Window Cleaning. We use pure water, which is both environmentally friendly and also guaranteed not to leave streaks. Get in touch with us today to find out how we can be of help!
